Thanks to a really solid week, and in no small part to your efforts to help get the word out, this campaign looks like it will cross the finish line just in the nick of time! However, we know that many of you want more.
A crowdfunding campaign is about building something, and stretch goals are about making that thing even better. Given the velocity of this campaign, the likelihood of reaching more than a couple of the listed stretch goals before midnight on Friday seems remote. But we still want to add these features! What to do?
It turns out that Indiegogo allows creators to extend the length of a campaign! To give us all some more time to get the word out and achieve some goals, we are extending this campaign through NEXT Friday, November 15th. In support of this, we’re reorganizing the stretch goal list a bit.
For the remainder of the campaign, here are the goals we can stretch for, and their new amounts:
Heart of the Wildfire Promo - 42k
Serpent Slumbering Beneath The Island - 44k
Nexus of Sound - 46k
Adversarial Appearance - 48k
Cartography - 50k
Spirit Styles - 52k
We think this new list provides a solid path forward to help us to make the core game experience the best it can possibly be.
This new list removes 2 stretch goals: the Branch and Claw expansion and online multiplayer support. In the original list, the smaller goals were doing double duty - raising their own budget, plus some of the budget for the larger goals, allowing the list to be a bit more uniform. Removing these for now allows us to compress the remaining goals into a simpler, hopefully more achievable list. Note that this doesn’t mean these things will never happen, just that they won’t be added to the development schedule as a part of the Indiegogo campaign.
As with our previous campaigns, we will be using BackerKit to administer pledges and perks once the campaign closes. Using BackerKit also allows us to continue raising money by offering pre-orders, and that’s exactly what we plan to do. Once the campaign is officially closed, and we’ve had time to set up the BackerKit page, we’ll update you with more information about the expansion, multiplayer support, and how we might make both of those things happen in the future. Thank you for all your support up to this point, now let’s achieve some stretch goals this week!
And finally, due to popular demand, we've opened up a few more spots for the limited beta testing perk. We do need to keep the beta team at a manageable size, but we hear how eager you are to help out!
Thank you for all your support so far. Keep spreading the word, and let's see what we can do with an additional 7 days!

We’re in the final week of the campaign, and we are so close! We need fewer than 200 more backers to make Spirit Island Digital a reality. We’ve seen many of you spreading the word on social media, and it’s been working - thank you! We just need to keep it up for a few more days. Send the link to everyone you know and let’s get this campaign over the top:
Last week’s music stream was a bit different than any we’ve done before. When creating the music and audio for one of our games, the first step is something Jean-Marc calls “soundscaping.” This is the process of exploring different sounds and instruments to get a feel for how the music will come together. For nearly two and a half hours, Jean-Marc and Spirit Island designer Eric Reuss stepped through all the different spirits in the game, as well as the invaders, the Dahan, and even the island itself to start planning it all out. It was a peek behind the curtain that Jean-Marc has discussed, but never really shown in public before. Check it out on our YouTube channel or below:
When you are finished getting caught up, head over to our Twitch channel on Wednesday, November 6th at 1 PM Eastern for the fourth Spirit Island development stream. This time, Jennifer will be following up on John's UI work to make it look and feel great. See how we integrate graphics and other assets from the tabletop game into Unity, along with creating new elements for the digital platform. Jennifer will also show off a few more parts of the 3D visuals in more detail.

Many of you know that Jean-Marc does double duty for us. Two weeks ago, he was wearing his developer hat when he teamed up with David to show you how our game engines work. This week, he’ll be removing the developer trilby, and instead donning his musical beret to show you some Spirit Island music! Join him at 1 PM Eastern tomorrow (Wednesday) on our Twitch channel.
Keep Spreading the Word!
We’re now 72% funded, but that still leaves $11k we need to raise in the next 11 days. At the current pace, that breaks down to at least another 300 pledges. If every one of our more than 800 backers gets a friend to back the campaign, we’ll be over the top in no time!
